Where have I been?

Well –

I have been sick on and off for the past couple of months, dealing with stress from the job, hasn’t been to the Gym since I have a foot issue, still playing games, reading comic books, catching up on some flicks, learning a little about PHP and MySQL, attempting to setup a WOW Server Emulator for an up and coming LAN party all of that trying to keep my center or individualism? I dunno.

LAN Report Day 2

12/31

After about 6 hrs of sleep, it was back to the LAN. Again, the only game that we played was City of Heroes, which is just fine with me! There was a couple of breaks for food and oh yeah more food, otherwise it from COH from 10am up until till about 9pm where some left to spend the eve with their families and loved ones to bring in the new year.

We brought in the new year with our 2nd annual game of Ghettopoly (monopoly spoof) where again Marty was the winner and by a land slide. From the beginning, you wouldn’t think it was going to be Tone either as it seemed like it took him about 4 laps around the board before he owned any real-estate. He was the big winner and just in time to do to the ‘ol clinky clinky with wine and champagne for 2005!

Then it was back to City of Heroes until about 3am.

The movies that where were played in the background were, Ghostbusters, Abbot and Costello meets Frankenstein, Wayne’s World, Dawn of the Dead (remake) and started Forrest Gump

Half Life 2, Den Remodel, Light at the end of the tunnel?

Half Life 2
This time there was no midnight madness, there were no lines to stand in, I was just able to walk up to the shelf, pull the game down and walk up the register and pay for it. Wow! Just like it is suppose to happen. 🙂 Okay, so the HALO 2 thing was much bigger and all, but I seem to have better control with a mouse when it comes to shooting. The game came on 5 cd’s, you have to install steam and wait for thier servers to register and validate your cd-key. (dumb!!!) The load times are not all that bad, Doom 3 was better.

The game has inredible graphics, awesome AI and sound, so far the game hasn’t given me any problems. Ok, the only problems I am having is trying to figure out the puzzles, not get killed and finishing the game. No biggie.

The New Den
I am finally done!! Yeah! The hard part? Well, prepping the room for painting was the hard part really. Painting with a air gun was a piece of cake (sure I had to figure it out first) and only took about 15 mins! Shazam! The walls are all white and new!! 🙂 I know longer am a slave to a 6ft banquet table, have tons of deskt top space, and a better shelf layout for my toys. Are we there yet?
Well, the week hasn’t been all that bad, just seems like a long week is all. You know how it is, trying to make another level in City of Heroes, not get your face blasted off in Halo 2, avoid the aliens in Half Life 2, organize a LAN party, work, do those dialy errands and tasks. AH, but there is a holiday coming up soon! That should be sweet!

Xbox X-Men & PC Starwars

I got a couple of new games the other day:

X-Men Legends for the Xbox : You get to build an X-Men team. Unleash their combined super powers. Save an ungrateful planet. You know, all the things that you usually do as a mutant super hro. The X-Mens greatest adversary, Magneto, has returned to wreak havoc worldwide. When its learned that this brilliant villain has devised a plan to give mutants the power to reign supreme over humans, the X-Men are forced to go to battle. Failure means imprisonment of the human race and a final defeat of the X-Mens noble cause. This game uses the Ultimate X-Men as thier game models , but you can also use some of the classic 70’s as well.

Star Wars Battlefront is the other game that I picked up which is an intense open-ended multiplayer action game set in the Star Wars universe, puts fans and gamers in the heat of the action as they re-live all of the epic battles from the classic and prequel eras of the Star Wars universe. Players participate in the most memorable Star Wars battles set in more than 15 environments across 10 diverse planets including Hoth, Geonosis, Yavin, Tatooine and Naboo. Select one of over 20 different soldier types from four factions: Rebel Alliance, Imperial Army, Clone Army and Droid Army. Each soldier has specialized abilities and the freedom to use ground-based turrets found on the battlefront, as well as more than 15 diverse ground and air vehicles including the AT-ST, X-wing and speeder bike. The multi-player supports 32 players over the Internet or 64 via a LAN.

GC Lan Party Day 2 Report

We have lots of superheroes running amok at the LAN. Pretty much the entire LAN was wrapped in playing COH. There was a minor little network issue with Rob’s machine, but after swapping a cable (which worked fine in the last LAN) he was back in the picture. Towards the in end of the night after eveyone started to drop off. An attempt to play some broodwar with Toneman, Rich and myself, but we got owned and after that it was just nightmare.

Here is the group taking a little break and doing a little dance session at the local rave:
