It was 14 days from today that the GamersCirlce Comic book store opened up to the public in Folsom, CA. I honestly cannot believe how we have been received, what a blast it has been. My job is like the best one ever, way better then taste testing ICE CREAM.
I get to talk about Magic the Gathering, Comic Books (past, present and future), Movies, TV and I get paid for it!!
Honestly though, it is just amazing how Folsom has welcomed us to the community. There isn’t one day that doesn’t go by when someone walks into the store and says, “It is about time that someone brought a comic book store back to Folsom”.
For the most part, the store is up and running, but I am not completely happy with the layout. I still have work to do in the Anime, Manga and the RPG sections. At least I got all of the back issues priced.
Today I bought myself some Dragon Shields a Time Spiral FAT PACK and started to put together a deck just to see how I will fair. Keep in mind, I haven’t played MTG since Alpha, but I still have a black loctus to show off and hopefully that will get me some respect.
I picked up this game just about 8 days ago and today I completed the story line and came home the iron clad hero that I started off with.
This is a well-made and accessible action RPG game and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance really goes a good job at emerging you into the Marvel Universe, an incredible feat considering the breadth of the source material. I am sure that we can look forward to another issue of this game as there is just enough holes and not all of the bad guys were apprehended. This is simply a must-have for Marvel fans, though the action itself remains satisfying enough for those in search of a good dungeon crawler to enjoy.
One of the items that I sprung on the family was a brand new Xbox 360 system. After watching Jr get it all hooked up, (which btw was enjoyable, see.. he needs glasses to see the small stuff now) I gave a slight demo of some of its basic features for the rest of that day.
The next day we all loaded up in Darth and headed to the local Best Buy. While there, I snagged the wireless network adapter so that I could show them Xbox Live and get them all started in that arena too. (a slight adjustment to the MTU on the linksys router was needed)
Needless to say, the new console system was a big hit. The whole darn family was just getting a kick out of the downloadable demos from the Arcade section, not to mention being able to stream pictures and mp3’s too along with a ton of other stuff.
Myself I picked up Oblivion since there has been a lot of jibber jabber about this game and since I don’t have an RPG on the 360, I bought it. I recovered my XBOX Live game tag on their console and started playing. (no issues)
When I got home, I thought I would pick up where I left off and while in the middle of re-recovering my GameTag I was greeted with some some crazy graphics and the above image. I quickly got on the phone to Microsoft and it will take a couple of weeks to get the refurbished one here.
The only thing that I can figure is that my machine was pissed off since I played on another machine, Microsoft had no comment when I called their ‘support’ line.
